In October, we visited our local, municipal shelter to rescue some dogs. While meeting some amazing dogs in need, we were introduced to a sweet senior Shih Tzu we named Pearl. They had asked us to take her hoping we could give her a second chance at life. They were honest with us that she had extensive medical issues but we knew we had to try to give her the best life possible.
Since Pearl joined our rescue, she has had MANY vet visits. While we had hoped Pearl was not as sick as we suspected, she unfortunately is. She has an aggressive form of cancer that is untreatable and has been put into our Lola’s Legacy hospice dog program so she can live out her days well-cared for and loved.
Thanks to our amazing previous adopters (and their pups Coco and Peanut Butter!), Pearl will have an unimaginably perfect home for the rest of her days. She loves snuggling up with her foster siblings, eating potato chips, and taking lots of walks which she enjoys so much.
As our program goes, so do our needs for your support. Please consider sponsoring this beautiful girl by clicking the sponsor button below. We are beyond honored that we were able to start this program and can’t wait to spoil Pearl for the rest of her days.
Rest in Peace Pearl
On December 21, 2018, Pearl decided it was her time to cross over the Rainbow Bridge. For 75 days, Pearl thrived in our Lola’s Legacy program being spoiled and loved by her hospice family. Unfortunately, her cancer was too aggressive, and eventually, she succumbed to it.
