We love sharing Dino’s journey because it’s just so full of love, hope, second chances, and new friendships- and in a world full of….lots of other, not so fuzzy stuff…who doesn’t need a little fuzziness??
But we know that Dino wouldn’t be such a success story if he was still alone in his crate in a “breeder’s” backyard- as the song says, he’s gettin’ by with a little help from his friends.
Dino seems to make friends everywhere he strolls- friends that give him a hug and a kiss and well wishes; friends that send him toys, food and other goodies; friends that let him sneak in a little cuddle during yoga class…he’s one very lucky little guy.
One of his new friends just happens to be one of our favorite friends- Pooky’s Dog Walking Club! Lynne Petermann, the Pooky Professor herself, led a pack walk in his honor last weekend, and we could not be more thankful for Dino’s fun day full of fresh air and good vibes from everyone who strolled with him.
Before Lynne offered to help us spread Dino’s story, she brightened the life of another of our rescues, Arthur. Arthur came to us at 11 years old, severely injured and scared. Undaunted, Lynne jumped in and gave him more support than any rescue could ever hope to see one of their pups receive. She cared for him through surgeries and recoveries, and gave him a lifetime’s worth of happiness in the brief time that he was by her side.
We all need a little help from our friends, and we at W.A.R. know that we could NEVER accomplish half of what we do without the support of all of ours! So today we thank Lynne and everyone like her, who dive in head-first with no reservations to love dogs like Dino and sweet Arthur, who need just a bit more TLC than your average pup.
Cheers to getting by with a little help from our friends!
